Jonathan Jackson and his band, Enation, are back!

The band, who have been making music together for over a decade, knew exactly the direction they wanted to take their next EP, Blame-shifter.

"We wanted to tackle making an edgier, rock album and just kind of wanted to give more of a feel of what it's like when we perform live," Jackson, 34, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "That was the musical angle. The lyrical angle, Blame-shifter, just came from a book I was reading that I was very inspired by. It's just the idea of instead of being defensive and shifting the blame to just accepting it."

Blame-shifter EP Debuts #22 on Billboard Heatseekers Chart

ENATION'S new Blame-shifter EP Debuted #22 on Billboard Heatseekers Chart. "It's a first for us," drummer Richard Lee Jackson says. "We didn't expect that to happen. The main thing is, we love that our fans are digging the music."

The strong debut comes on the heels of their "Blame-shifter US Summer Tour" kick-off at Mohegan Sun's Wolf Den in Connecticut. The band will tour in select cities in the US, primarily in the Northeast and South throughout the summer.

Another reason for the EP moving up the charts is certainly the reaction to lead singer Jonathan's rendition of "Unchained Melody (Live From Grand Ole Opry)". The emotional live performance has almost 3 million views on YouTube and is already become a fan favorite at their concerts.
